SHIMLA- The queen of all hill stations. The former summer capital in pre independence India & the present capital of Himachal Pradesh covering an area of 25 sq km at a height of 7,238 ft, is surrounded by fine deodar & oak forests. 1. Christ Church.
It was earlier called as Viceregal Lodge built in 1840. In post independence era, it was renamed as "Rashtrapati Niwas" & was later converted into a research center for Indian culture, humanities and social and natural sciences. The another center of attraction in Shimla. 3. Himachal State Museum.
Shimla state museum set on the famous mall road od Shimla, State museum is the colonial building that was built in 1974 the museum is major attraction of the hill station. It was also known as Himachal State Museum as it depicts the rich cultural heritage of the State.
4. Craignano Nature Park.
Craignano is situated at a distance of 13.5 km from Shimla. Is a beautiful picnic spot surrounding with many type of flowers, fruits research station and many type of beautiful flowers as a leading attraction of this place among tourist.5.Naldehra, Golfers' Spot.
Golf Course, Naldehra is the oldest golf club in India situated at a distance of 23 km from Shimla. The area surrounded by trees. It remains open from April to November as the weather is quite pleasant. Which attracts more visitors.
